Three Tibetans ‘set themselves on fire’ in China
A Tibetan has died and two others are seriously injured in self-immolations against Beijing’s rule, according to reportsThree Tibetans in south-western China have set themselves on fire in protest against Chinese rule, the latest in a series of self-immolations over the past year, according to media reports and an activist group. The three set themselves ablaze on Friday in Seda county, known as Serthar in Tibetan, in Sichuan province, calling for freedom for Tibet and the return of the region’s exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, the US-funded Radio Free Asia news service said on Saturday, citing three sources, one of whom is in exile.
