The cruise liner accident stirs memories for one woman who was on board the Jupiter when it sank in 1988Watching the story of the Costa Concordia unfold, I’ve been transported back to my own experience, in 1988, when, at the age of 15, I was on the Jupiter, a cruise liner that sank in Piraeus Harbour, Greece, with the loss of four lives. I had saved for a year for the mammoth school holiday, which was due to take in the pyramids, Bethlehem and Rhodes.
